BLOM Bank s.a.l. is committed to respecting your privacy rights when using our eBLOM Mobile Banking App and/or our NEXT App. This privacy policy explains how we collect, store and use personal data about you when you use the eBLOM Mobile Banking App or the NEXT App (collectively, the “eBLOM Apps”).

By accessing and using the eBLOM Apps, you confirm that you have read and understood this privacy policy. If you do not want your data to be used as set out in this privacy policy, you should not use the eBLOM Apps.

We respect your right to privacy and we operate under the Lebanese jurisdiction and as such are bound to abide by the Lebanese laws and regulations including the Lebanese Banking Secrecy Law which can be found in the Central Bank of Lebanon website.

What Information Do We Collect?

We collect limited personal data from you through your use of our eBLOM Apps. The only personal data we actively collect from you beyond that which you have provided through registration are the technical fingerprint of the mobile device you use to access the eBLOM Apps and your geo-location information.

The eBLOM Apps use cookies to manage your browsing session. Cookies are small text files which are stored by your browser on your mobile or handheld device (such as smart ‘phones or ‘tablets’) as you browse the eBLOM Apps. These cookies are essential to the effective operation of our eBLOM Apps.

Camera and Microphone

• Enable the Video/Audio Chat feature on the eBLOM Apps

Location

• Enable the ATM Locator feature on the eBLOM Apps

Telephone

• Access the device status and technical identity

You can disable access for these permissions in Settings (Android 6.0 and above). Updates to eBLOM Apps may automatically add additional capabilities within each group.

How Do We Use Your Information?

We process the information we collect for the following purposes:

• Verifying your identity when you login to our eBLOM Apps
• Preventing fraud and enhancing the security of your account
• Performing analytics concerning your use of our eBLOM Apps
• Enabling the eBLOM Apps features such as ATM Locator
• Providing you with tailored content and marketing messages
• Performing data analytics to develop new products and services and improving existing ones

Disclosure of Information

In order to protect your personal data, we apply the following principles:

• We preserve the confidentiality of information and prevent its disclosure or misappropriation by third parties
• We collect, use, and retain only the personal information necessary for the bank’s business
• We retain information only for as long as required by laws and regulations, or for as long as it is deemed necessary for the bank’s business
• We limit internal access to personal information to those with legitimate right to access such information, and always on a “need-to-know” basis.

Security of Your Personal Information

In accordance with the applicable laws and regulations, we have taken adequate technical and organizational measures to safeguard the security of your personal information. We store the personal information that we process on a secure database that is protected by technical access controls. Please be advised that you may refer to the eBLOM Agreement that you signed upon enrolling to the eBLOM Apps for a full description of our limitation of liabilities.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may change this eBLOM Privacy Policy from time to time. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new “Last Updated” date. Any changes to this eBLOM Privacy Policy will become effective upon its posting unless indicated otherwise.
